PPHI Sindh and the Department of Medicine at Aga Khan University met to discuss a collaborative research project


On January 3, 2025, PPHI Sindh and the Department of Medicine at Aga Khan University met to discuss a collaborative research project aimed at reducing cardiovascular disease risk in two districts of Sindh. Attending from PPHI Sindh were CEO Mr. Javed Ali Jagirani, Director of Health Services Dr. Zakir Ali, and Deputy Director of Research Ms. Nelofer Baig. Representing Aga Khan University were Professor Zainab Samad, Chair of the Department of Medicine, Professor Kamran Siddiqi from the University of York, Joint Director of the NIHR Global Health Centre for IMPACT Mr. Adeel Sabir (Programme Manager, Centre for IMPACT), and Mr. Rafique Channa (Manager, Center for IMPACT). During the meeting, Professor Siddiqi was particularly interested in discussing the progress and strategies of the CVD project in Thatta and Matiari. The gathering provided an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaboration efforts and strategize for the next steps. Future funding avenues for research projects were also discussed.
