Mr. Fazal-ur-Rehman
Chairman

Mr. Fazal-ur-Rehman, a retired civil servant, joined the civil service in 1972 and served for thirty-eight years. He has a Master’s degree in International Relations and General History from Karachi University and also attended the University of Connecticut for graduation. Mr. Fazal-ur-Rehman has served as a Federal Secretary in various ministries including Ports & Shipping and Manpower Division. He has served as the Accountant General Sindh, Chairman Training Corporation of Pakistan and the Controller General of Accounts for Government of Pakistan. He also served as the Finance Secretary, Sindh and Chief Secretary, Sindh, and retired in Grade 22. Mr. Fazal-ur-Rehman has remained actively involved in PPHI since 2007 and continues to play a key role in shaping the organization’s vision and setting its policies.

Mr. Muhammad Nazar Memon
BOD Member

Mr. Muhammad Nazar Memon obtained a Master’s degree in Economics from Karachi University and a Master’s degree in Regional Planning from Clark University, Worcester (USA). He also acquired a diploma in Regional Planning from United Nations Centre for Regional Development (UNCRD), Japan and a diploma in Child Health from Child Health Institute in London (UK). Mr. Nazar Memon’s work experience includes working for the UNICEF in areas pertaining to social planning, women and children. He has served as the Deputy Head of UNICEF (Karachi Office) and Head of their Peshawar office. He has also assisted the Agha Khan Health Foundation in evaluation of their community based health program. In UNICEF, Mr. Memon also gained international experience in monitoring of community-based in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and South Africa. He has also served as the Program Coordinator in Yemen and Papua New Guinea for Women’s Development issues in the social sector. Mr. Memon has also worked at UNDP and World Bank funded projects for devolution in Pakistan. Mr. Memon also served as the CEO of Sindh Rural Support Organization from 2005-2008 and currently serves on the board of PPHI Sindh and several boards of rural support programs.

Dr. Muhammad Suleman Shaikh
BOD Member

Dr. Muhammad Suleman Shaikh is a senior board member whose qualifications include MBBS, MCPS in Anesthesiology (Pakistan), Fellowship (Colombo Plan - Singapore) and PDM (Asian Institute of Management). He is a member of the Board of Directors in several notable organizations including Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, Pakistan Centre for Philanthropy, Sindh Rural Support Organization and Sindhi Language Authority. He has also served as the Chairperson of Thardeep Rural Development Program and the Chairman Board of Trustees of Sindh Rural Support Program. Dr. Shaikh was also the founding member of Sindh Graduates Multipurpose Society and Mehran Educational Foundation. In the field of medicine, he has contributed significantly in anesthesiology and acupuncture. He is currently the Secretary to the Board of Trustees at SZABIST and remains involved in various other voluntary and philanthropic projects.

Dr. Mohammad Saeed Qureshi
BOD Member

Dr. Mohammad Saeed Qureshi has an MBBS degree from Dow Medical College, Karachi, FRCS from the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and FCPS from College of Physicians and Surgeons (Pakistan). Dr. Qureshi has held numerous notable positions as medical faculty. He served as the Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital for eight years. He was nominated to government organizations in various capacities including Chairman, Board of Management, SMBB Trauma Centre, Karachi; Director, PPHI Sindh; Member, Sindh Healthcare Commission; Member, Health Advisory Board – Private Public Partnership; and Member Selection Board, Jinnah Sindh Medical University, Karachi. Dr. Qureshi is presently serving as the Meritorious Professor of Surgery and Vice Chancellor Dow University of Health Sciences

Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Shah
BOD Member

Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Shah is a retired civil servant belonging to the 9th Common. His qualifications include an M.Com. and a diploma in Public Administration from the University of Sindh. Mr. Mushtaq Shah started his career in the Police Service of Pakistan in 1981 and retired in 2012. During this time, he held some key positions including those of IG Sindh, IG Prisons, Chairman Anti-Corruption and the Chief Security Officer to the Prime Minister. Currently, he is serving as a board member of PPHI Sindh and Alpha Insurance.

Dr. Nighat Shah
BOD Member

Dr. Nighat Shah holds an MBBS, MCPS, FCPS and MRCOG (UK). She is currently working as a consultant gynecologist at Agha Khan University Hospital where she teaches and trains undergraduate and postgraduate students. She is also a senior consultant at the Sindh Institute of Reproductive Medicine and visiting faculty at Ziauddin Hospital. Dr. Nighat Shah has more than twenty years of clinical experience of saving mothers/ neonates and improving mothers’ health. She also worked in Murshid Hospital, located in an underprivileged area of Karachi, where she helped in saving lives of high risk pregnant women.

Ms. Nargis Ali Akbar Ghaloo
BOD Member

Ms. Nargis Ali Akbar Ghaloo is a retired senior civil servant having served the Government of Pakistan in various capacities for 36 years. She retired as the Managing Director Public Procurement Regulatory Authority, Government of Pakistan.

Ms. Ghaloo was Chairperson of State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan, Pakistan’s largest life assurer, from 2014 to 2016.

Ms. Ghaloo joined the Civil Services of Pakistan in 1982, has many years of professional experience serving in senior management positions with provincial as well as federal government departments in diversified fields such as public sector management, administration, financial, judicial, health, insurance and planning. Ms. Ghaloo did her Masters in English from University of Sindh in 1981 and is a certified Director from The Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG) and holds certificate of corporate governance from INSEAD and also holds a certificate in company direction from Institute of Directors, UK. Ms. Ghaloo was appointed on Board of PPHI Sindh in February 2022. Ms. Ghaloo has also been serving on Board of JS Bank and Hino Pak Motors Limited.
