Dr. Irfan

Dr. Irfan Ahmed Kakezai
Deputy Director Health Services

Dr. Irfan Ahmed Kakezai, has recently joined the esteemed management team at PPHI Sindh as Deputy Director of Health Services.

With over two decades of exceptional experience in the field of clinical, medical research, and implementation of public health programs, Dr. Kakezai brings unparalleled expertise to his new role. Driven by his passion for serving communities in need, Dr. Kakezai left the United States to apply his expertise and experience in healthcare to support the people of Pakistan. After relocating, he served as a consultant partner with UNAIDS country office in Islamabad, leaving an indelible mark by developing Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) implementation program 2021-2023 for Pakistan.

Prior to this, Dr. Kakezai worked as a Health Consultant at the Florida Department of Health in Jacksonville, Florida, where he implemented a series of innovative HIV/AIDS programs such as Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP), and Test and Treat (T&T) programs, spanning five counties of Northeast Florida. His contributions extend beyond HIV/AIDS programs as he has also played a vital role in planning and implementing various community-based health programs, including Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (FBCCEDP), Children Health Services, immunization against preventable diseases, Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, & Children (WIC) and School Health Programs.

Dr. Kakezai's passion for research has resulted in the successful execution of numerous ongoing research programs, while simultaneously mentoring graduate/undergraduate community health students and interns at the University of North Florida.

With an MD, PhD degrees in medicine and being a practicing dermatologist and aesthetician, Dr. Kakezai has also earned a Master in Public Health (MPH) from the University of North Florida, Jacksonville, USA, and is a member of Certified Health Educator Specialist (C.H.E.S) USA. His exceptional professional credentials have been further bolstered with numerous certifications in the field of public health, making him a true asset to the PPHI Sindh team.

Muhammad Ashraf Soomro
Director of Procurement

Muhammad Ashraf Soomro, currently serves as the Director of Procurement at PPHI Sindh, where he oversees the procurement of goods and services for the organization. With a Master's degree in Economics, he possess a strong understanding of economic principles and theories. In addition, he also holds an LLB degree to provide him a solid understanding of legal frameworks and compliance requirements related to procurement.

AfterPrior to joining PPHI Sindh, Mr. Soomro held various positions across different sectors, including a role as Principal of the Postal Training Center in Karachi. They have also served as the Divisional Superintendent of Postal Services for the Ministry of Postal Services, where they oversaw the delivery of postal services within a particular region.

He also has experience working in law enforcement, having served as an Assistant Sub Inspector in the Sindh Police from 2004 to 2011.

Dr. Sajid Shafique
Provincial Project Coordinator, Nutrition Cell

Dr. Sajid Shafique, a medical graduate (MBBS) from Chandka Medical College, has been associated with PPHI Sindh since 2016. He has 11 years of experience in the field of health and development sectors. Dr. Shafique has an elaborated experience in government funded nutrition programs. He has previously worked with both national and international organisations such as Nutrition Support Program, The Johanniter International, Save the Children and International Medical Corps. Dr. Sahafique has diversified working experience in Nutrition Sector covering Nutrition Specific and Nutrition Specific approaches. His working experience covers from District level up to Country level.

Mr. Asadullah Dahri
Provincial Engineer

Mr. Asadullah Dahri, Provincial Engineer at PPHI Sindh, has a B.E. in Civil Engineering and a professional experience of 25 years in project management, planning and scheduling high-end projects, possessing allied exposure in quality assurance and control and site supervision.

Mr. Dahri has served as National Project Director at National Fertilizer Corporation of Pakistan (PVT) LTD, Ministry of Industries & Production, Government of Pakistan. He has also served at international posts such QA/Planning Engineer, Senior Planning Engineer and Project Planning & Control Engineer mostly in Saudi Arabia at companies like Dorsch International Consultants, Assad Said for Contracting Co. Ltd. and Arabian company & Sasakura for Water & Power, respectively. Earlier, Mr. Dahri has also served in Departments of Agriculture and Irrigation & Power, Government of Sindh.

Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Soomro
Regional Director, Region III Larkano

Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Soomro, Regional Director, Region III Larkano is an Officer of Provincial Secretariat Services Government of Sindh which he joined in 2018 after completion of CSTP Training program. He joined special education and then school education and literacy department. Before joining PSS Cadre, he had worked as an Assistant Director in Sindh Education Foundation and remained in different positions in both federal as well provincial services.

Mr. Ghulam Mustafa Soomro Joined PPHI Sindh in 2020 as District Manager Kamber-Shahdadkot, he was later on transferred to District Office Khairpur-B in April 2022. He also served as District Manager Secondary Care Larkano and was assigned additional responsibility of Regional Director, Larkano. He has vast experience in program management and implementation of various initiatives in Health as well as in Secretariat Services.

Mr. Sandeep Kumar
Chief Audit Executive

Mr. Sandeep Kumar, is an experienced Audit and finance professional with an excellent academic track record. He has solid skills of Internal Audit in financial and governmental sector with over 9 years of experience in Pakistan and UAE. He has done masters in economics and holds membership of ACCA , PIPFA and Institute of Forensic Accountants of Pakistan

Mr. Kumar has been serving PPHI Sindh since 2015 in different roles within Internal Audit department. Previously, he had worked with many international organizations (from the platform of Ernst & Young, Ford Rhodes Siddat Hyder). His expertise in the field are business review and analysis, tax planning and filings, settlement negotiations, audit, project management, corporate compliance, final accounts and financial statement. In addition, Mr. Kumar is good at networking socially and professionally.

Dr. Tariq Aziz
Chief Pathologist

Dr. Tariq Aziz, is a Clinical Pathologist and currently holds the position of Chief Pathologist at PPHI, Sindh. Dr. Aziz has 23 years of experience of working with national and international organizations in the field of Pathology. He has worked independently to develop and execute clinical laboratories in four districts of Sindh. His main field of interest is Hematology and Immunohematology.

Dr. Aziz is a medical doctor by profession with Pathology background. He completed his graduation in medicine (M.B.B.S) in 1994. He had completed his training in Pathology in 1998 from Department of Pathology, Dr. Ziauddin University Hospital Karachi. Later on, he did his postgraduation in Clinical Pathology from College of Physicians & Surgeons, and had also completed his M-Phil (Clinical Microbiology and Immunology) from Dadabhoy Institute, Karachi.

Dr. Rabia Ahmed
Deputy Director Family Planning

Dr. Rabia Ahmed, a Public Health specialist (MSPH, SZABIST KARACHI), is a medical graduate from Chandka Medical College Larkana, present day Shaheed Mohtarmma Benazir Bhutto Medical University. She joined PPHI Sindh and has more than ten years of experience. Before Joining PPHI Sindh, she had served as Medical Officer/field Medical Officer in Population welfare Department, Government of Sindh, where she provided Reproductive Health services including family planning services and took part in conducting trainings across Sindh on various FP methods.

Dr. Ghulam Parwar
Deputy Director Training & Capacity Building

Dr. Ghulam Parwar, a Public Health Specialist (MSPH, Health Services Academy Islamabad), is a medical graduate from Chandka Medical College Larkana, (LUMHS Jamshoro). He joined PPHI Sindh as Deputy Director Training & Capacity Building since August 2022. He is an officer of Health Management Cadre and has more than five year working experience with health department, Government of Sindh in various health projects and programs at district and provincial level. Before Joining PPHI Sindh, he had served as Assistant District Health Officer (BS-17) at District Health Office, Kambar Shahdadkot, and Assistant Director and Provincial Training Coordinator at Directorate General Health Services Sindh, Health Department, Government of Sindh, where he provided Health services.
