PPHI Sindh operates as a distinguished not-for-profit entity, governed under section 42 of The Companies Act 2017, a regulatory framework that underscores its commitment to social welfare and public service. Recognized by the Pakistan Centre of Philanthropy (PCP) for its non-profit status, PPHI Sindh stands as a testament to its dedication to serving the community. The organization is overseen by a seasoned Board of Directors, composed of individuals with diverse expertise and backgrounds, including representatives from key government sectors such as Health, Finance, Planning & Development, and Population Welfare.

Our History
PPHI Sindh embarked on its journey in 2007, commencing operations in District Kashmore and gradually expanding its footprint to encompass 26 districts across Sindh. Initially entrusted with this responsibility by the Sindh Rural Support Organization (SRSO) through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Sindh (GoS), the organization transitioned to an independent nonprofit entity in 2013. Registered under section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984 (since repealed by the Companies Act, 2017), PPHI Sindh entered into a fresh MoU with the GoS to continue its mission. Our nonprofit status has further been endorsed by the Pakistan Centre of Philanthropy (PCP), a government-approved body for recognizing nonprofit organizations. Governed by a Board of Directors comprising seven seasoned members with extensive and diverse expertise, PPHI Sindh remains committed to its mandate of revitalizing healthcare services in rural Sindh.

What We Do?
PPHI Sindh's journey is marked by a transformative evolution in the provision of healthcare services across the region. Initially established to address essential primary health care needs, the organization has since expanded its scope to deliver round-the-clock basic obstetric care, achieving a significant milestone by upgrading over 300 Basic Health Units (BHUs) into 24/7 maternity centers. This accomplishment, achieved without additional support from the government of Sindh, positions the province as a trailblazer in Pakistan's healthcare landscape. The transition was guided by data-driven insights, with interventions informed by morbidity and mortality trends. Stricter infection control measures in labor rooms, universal partograph utilization, and the promotion of quality Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) for premature and low-birth weight newborns are among the pivotal strategies employed to enhance maternal health outcomes.
