Successful Case study of Baby Sumera

Baby Sumera d/o Mr Subhan Ali aged 12 month transferred by Nutrition section of BHU Ghozo of District Dadu enrolled in Nutrition Stabilization Centre, Syed Abdullah Shah Institute Of Medical Sciences (SASIM) Sehwan in shock with Ichthyosis disease, no weight gain, poor appetite and dehydration status with SD score < -3SD.Parents had long been getting the treatment from various doctors even visited the shrines as suggested but finally lost the hope of survival of baby. It was the only time when baby was referred timely by Health facility through PPHI Ambulance service free of the cost due to unaffordable parents of baby. The Staff of NSC timely diagnosed the baby as mentioned and started the treatment as per protocol in opinion with dermatologist.

Mother found worried and crying was encouraged for proper management of baby under the supervision of senior and trained staff. The child remained in NSC for 09 days and finally recovered successfully and got discharged from Nutrition Stabilization Centre to get further rehabilitated at OTP Site. Baby availed all essential medical services free of the cost under EU PINS DJ project. Mother showing her excitement had tears in her eye while leaving the NSC and prayed for staff working with dignity and sincerity.
