A pivotal meeting at PPHI Sindh HO on the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI)


A pivotal meeting took place at the PPHI Sindh Head Office on the Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI) in the Sindh province on August 23rd, 2023, where representatives from key stakeholders converged to discuss and strategize on public health and immunization. The meeting revolved around various discussion points, reflecting the commitment and dedication of the participants towards advancing the state of immunization and public health in the region. The key topics of discussion were establishment of Integrated Coordination Core Committee, enhancement of Birth dose Coverage, Refusal Strategic Planning, HR and Essential Logistics Support to PPHI for EPI, Cold Chain Equipment Issues, Integrated Outreach Activity Phase 2 and utilization of ZM SEIR Services for Effective Monitoring. The PPHI Sindh team was led by Mr. Javed Ali Jagirani, CEO, and included Dr. Zakir Ali Punar - Director Health Services, Dr. Kishwar Ali – PO, Abdur Raheem – Deputy Director Operations, Dr. Samiullah - Senior Manager DPC and Dr. Syed Nizamuddin - Manager EPI. Dr. Mohammed Naeem, PD EPI Sindh and Dr. Khaleel Ahmed, DPD EPI Sindh represented EPI Sindh whereas Dr. Sohail Shaikh, Technical Officer and Dr. Arsalan Memon, M&E Officer represented Government of Sindh, Dr. Waqar Soomro, Technical Officer and Dr. Ahsan Burghuri, Technical Advisor represented WHO and Dr. Amjad, Technical Head represented UNICEF. The meeting concluded on a high note, with participants energized and committed to taking actionable steps towards addressing these critical points. The collaborative spirit exhibited during the meeting underscored the dedication of the stakeholders to improving immunization efforts, ultimately leading to better public health outcomes for the people of Sindh.
