Successful Participation of PPHI Sindh in FP Conference 2024
PPHI Sindh recently took part in the FP Conference 2024, a national gathering focused on extending access to modern contraception and addressing population-related issues. The conference, organized by Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) and other supporting entities, aimed to explore innovative solutions and strengthen partnerships to improve family planning services. With Pakistan ranking as the world's fifth most populous country and facing a rapid population growth rate of 2.4%, the need for effective family planning initiatives is paramount. Despite political dedication and extensive efforts, Pakistan's contraceptive prevalence rate remained low, posing challenges to achieving Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 3, which focuses on ensuring good health and well-being. The conference, held on February 13, 2024, at Najmuddin Auditorium in JPMC Karachi, brought together leaders, advocates, and stakeholders to discuss key topics, including innovative financing models, strengthening supply chains, collaboration with academia and NGOs, and government support in policy development and implementation. PPHI Sindh actively participated in the event, contributing to informed policy-making processes and advocating for comprehensive family planning services. The organization emphasized the importance of addressing population-related issues to safeguard maternal well-being and empower women.
