PPHI Sindh inaugurates Nutrition Stabilisation Centre, Jamshoro


Dr. Nighat Shah, Member Board of Directors (BoD) PPHI Sindh inaugurated a Nutrition Stabilisation Center at Liaquat University of Medical & Health Sciences (LUMHS), Jamshoro in collaboration with LUMHS established under European Union funded Programme for Improved Nutrition in Sindh (EU-PINS) and Health Department, Sindh Government funded Accelerated Action Plan (APP). The area covered by Nutrition Stabilization is about 3,800 sq/feet. It has various units like information desk, high dependency unit with bed capacity of six, general ward with bed capacity of ten, emergency triage, staff room, kitchen, play area, medicines store, waiting area, IYCF area, prayer area, public and staff washrooms.

The centre will be jointly administered by PPHI Sindh District Office, Jamshoro and Pead's unit I at LUMHS Jamshoro.

Mr. Zakir Hussain Samo, District Nutrition Coordinator PPHI Sindh Jamshoro briefed the guests about the Nutrition stabilization center that will cater to the communities of Sindh and Balochistan. Dr. Nighat Ali Shah met with the children under rehabilitation process and collected the feedback from caretakers about service delivery. She appreciated the entire administration of PPHI Sindh District Jamshoro and LUMHS authorities on working together to reduce malnutrition in children.

Mr. Abdul Wahab Soomro, Chief Executive Officer PPHI Sindh also appreciated the efforts of PPHI Sindh's Hyderabad Region's team for their hard work and distributed certificates among them.

Mr. Riaz Hussain Rahoojo, Chief Operating Officer PPHI Sindh accompanied by Dr Zeeshan Noor Shaikh, Project Director EU-PINS, Dr Zaib Dahar, Senior Technical Advisor, Dr. Najeeb Ur Rehman Chachar RD Hyderabad, Mr. Moula Buksh Solangi, RD Mirpurkhas, Mr. Mazhar Ali Veesar, RD Sukkur, Mr. Imtiaz Ali Kalhoro, DM Hyderabad and Mr. Shafiq Rehman Agro, DM Jamshoro were also present at the event. Prof Shazia Memon, Chairperson Pead's Unit I, Dr. Farzana Shaikh, Chairperson Pead's unit II, Dr. Shafique Laghari RMO LUMHS, Dr. Yousif, Registrar Admin Pead's unit I, Jamshoro, Dr. Khurram Ansari - MOHQ PPHI Sindh Jamshoro, Mr. Wajahat Hussain Soomro - Ex F&A and others also attended the event.
