Collaboration between PPHI Sindh and Gates Foundation to Improve Health in Sindh
January 17, 2025, Karachi – In a significant step toward improving healthcare for underserved communities, a meeting was held between representatives from the Gates Foundation and PPHI Sindh. The meeting focused on the E-Motive PPH Bundle project proposal and discussed potential collaborative efforts to enhance health services in Sindh’s primary health care facilities.
The meeting was led by CEO Mr. Javed Ali Jagirani, included key figures such as Dr. Misbah Munir, Director of Health Services; Dr. Sajid Shafique, Project Director of Nutrition; and Ms. Nelofer Baig, Deputy Director of Research. The Gates Foundation team was represented by Ms. Zenia Sifri, Senior Program Officer; Dr. Farhana Shahid, Consultant; and Dr. Sidrah Nausheen, Associate Professor at Aga Khan University’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
During the meeting, Ms. Sifri expressed a strong interest in collaborating with PPHI Sindh on the E-Motive PPH Bundle project, which aims to address postpartum hemorrhage (PPH) through innovative and sustainable solutions. Ms. Sifri emphasized the potential impact of the project in improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations across the province.
“We are excited to partner with PPHI Sindh on this vital initiative to improve maternal health in Sindh. Our goal is to implement the E-Motive PPH Bundle at primary health care facilities to reduce maternal morbidity and mortality,” said Ms. Sifri.
Both parties also discussed opportunities for strengthening the partnership and exploring other areas of mutual interest. The collaboration aims to leverage PPHI Sindh’s extensive network of health facilities and the Gates Foundation’s expertise in global health initiatives.
PPHI Sindh, known for its commitment to providing quality healthcare to underserved populations, welcomed the opportunity to collaborate on this impactful project.
