World Breastfeeding Week Celebration
On 4 August 2026, World Breastfeeding Day was celebrated at the MCHC Centre, Mirpur Mathelo, with the objective of promoting awareness about the importance of breastfeeding for the health and well-being of both mothers and infants.

An awareness session was conducted to highlight the importance of breastfeeding and its positive impact on the health of both mothers and infants. Participants were educated on the benefits of exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life, its role in strengthening infant immunity, improving nutrition, and supporting healthy growth and development.
A practical demonstration on correct breastfeeding positions and proper attachment techniques was also provided to help mothers practice safe and effective breastfeeding.
To further promote the message, an awareness walk was organized within the MCHC premises. The participants actively took part in the walk, carrying awareness messages to encourage exclusive breastfeeding and increase community awareness about its lifelong health benefits.
The event concluded successfully with a shared commitment from all stakeholders to continue promoting breastfeeding awareness and supporting mothers through education, advocacy, and community engagement.
