Chief Secretary Sindh visits PPHI Sindh, reviews progress of the organisation
KARACHI: Chief Secretary Sindh, Syed Asif Hyder Shah, paid an official visit to the Head Office of PPHI Sindh to review its organizational performance, primary healthcare coverage, and institutional achievements across the province.
During the visit, Chairman PPHI Sindh, Mr. Fazal-ul-Rahman, formally welcomed the Chief Secretary. The meeting was attended by key executive leadership, including Chief Executive Officer Mr. Javed Ali Jagirani, Chief Operating Officer Mr. Riaz Hussain Rahoojo, and Company Secretary Mr. Muhammad Yahya, who provided a detailed briefing on PPHI Sindh's operational network and health service delivery.
The Chief Secretary praised PPHI Sindh's remarkable achievements, operational efficiency, and progress in expanding quality healthcare to remote and rural areas, supported by the Government of Sindh.
PPHI Sindh's operational network has grown from 1,137 health facilities in 2013 to a projected 1,917 facilities in the 2026-2027 period. Similarly, annual OPD consultations rose from 18.7 million in 2013-2014 to 45.4 million in 2025-2026.
The total number of safe deliveries conducted at PPHI Sindh facilities jumped from 28,444 in 2013-2014 to 410,488 in 2025-2026, reflecting a 343% increase. To ensure quick referrals and emergency medical response, we have deployed 367 operational ambulances across PPHI Sindh health facilities in the province.
Moving forward, the Chief Secretary stated that he expects complete cooperation from PPHI Sindh in alignment with provincial goals. He underscored that joint dedication is vital to driving meaningful improvements in Sindh's healthcare indicators.
